In the industrial design space, I strongly believe that experience is the key driver for innovation because it allows me to draw from a wide variety of inspiration and practical know-how. In my 25 years of work at design agencies in the US and Europe, I had the fortune to be exposed to over 160 programs for more than 110 different brands. This deep industrial design background is my foundation for driving tremendous value through innovation.
My entrepreneurial drive allowed me to start my own company in 2014. At SMARTSTR, I design and develop consumer-centric products in the ‘smarter living’ space. I am financing these programs through fee-for-service industrial design projects for a wide spectrum of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to startups and inventors.
I am well versed in every facet of a product creation journey, from stakeholder research, innovation, and design to engineering, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing. I am most passionate about the difficult intersection of blue-sky and reality, where new ideas are moved beyond speculation and theory and systematic steps are taken to actually create the things we envision.
Within my creative teams, I strive to create an environment, which is free of gatekeeper-driven convention to foster and promote fearless experimentation, boundless investigation, and deep community engagement.
